The person behind the engine

Michael Sloggett

Alpha Signals and the xs momentum engine were built by Michael Sloggett, an Australian entrepreneur, cryptocurrency trader and educator with more than a decade of experience in financial markets. This page covers who runs the engine and the thinking that shaped it.

Why this engine exists

Michael reached the number one position on the Bitget copy trading leaderboard, generating more profit for the people following him than any other trader on the platform. That record sits on the exchange itself: the trader profile is public, so the figures can be read on Bitget rather than taken on trust. In 2025, Bitget awarded him the Smart Trader Award, its most prestigious trading award, at its ceremony in Singapore.

Copy trading proved the strategy worked. It also exposed a ceiling. One person can only watch the market for so many hours, and a follower's result still depends on when they happen to be paying attention. The xs momentum engine is the answer to that ceiling. It ranks the entire crypto market by momentum every day and refreshes a long and short basket at 00:05 UTC on each member's own exchange account, whether or not anyone is at a screen. Discipline stops being something a trader has to summon and becomes something the system already does.

Teaching came first

Before Alpha Signals, Michael founded MTC Education, where he serves as Chief Visionary Officer. It runs more than 100 hours of structured training alongside live coaching and a private community. Over 50,000 people have been trained through it worldwide, and he has mentored people who went on to become some of the largest voices in the cryptocurrency industry.

That teaching background is why the engine is built the way it is. Michael's approach rests on three pillars: disciplined risk management, psychological mastery and continuous education. He argues that anyone can reach financial freedom given the right education, the right mindset and the right community, and that the hardest part of trading is rarely the analysis. It is doing the same correct thing on the day it feels wrong. An engine that rebalances on a schedule removes precisely the decision most traders get wrong.

Away from the charts

Michael is a vocal advocate for high performance living and practices biohacking, cold exposure and structured daily routines. He treats it as part of the job rather than a hobby, on the view that the habits built away from the screen shape the decisions made in front of it.
